the
stairs...

Upper/ground

So the sketch begins...
Started off sketching how the stairs would connect from each floor; from one to another. So I decided to look into the connection between the Ground and Upper Floor.
The purpose is for the stairway to blend in with the support legs of the UFO, at the same time making sure that the client (Gucci) experiences and gets inspired while going from and to the workshop in the upper floor being surrounded by the beauty of the natural environment surrounding the area. Hence, only small steps were implemented in this design (although sketches do not reflect the inclination of the stairway). The UFO is also planned to be elevated on the hill, which will work in conjunction with the minimum incline stairway to further convey the previous point. This travel time strives to encourage the client to stop to appreciate the scenery of the area while going to and from the workshop.

LOWER/ground

The lower/ground stairway is inspired by more industrial designs, striving to achieve to give a rustic, straight-to-the-point vibe. This is because this concept should provide a more comfortable, warehouse vibe for Revival Cycles. The spiral stairway was taken into consideration initially but it was not practical for our client to bring the bike up to the exhibition by a spiral stairway. Hence, two flights of stairs conjoined with platforms is used. This provides our client with practicality and efficiency of working.

The lower to upper floor stairs have been retouched and revamped to rid off the elevator aesthetics to portray a more supernatural look.
